At Rotas de Mação, sustainability is a commitment that guides every activity we organize, reflecting our respect for the natural heritage that surrounds us. With this goal in mind, Rotas de Mação has eliminated the use of single-use plastic water bottles at its events, encouraging participants to adopt reusable alternatives. To support this initiative, we have introduced recycled stainless steel mugs, designed to be durable, reusable, and perfectly suited for outdoor activities. This measure significantly reduces plastic waste while helping to protect the natural spaces that participants explore.
Our environmental commitment also extends to the organization of Geocaching CITO (Cache In Trash Out) events, an international initiative that combines geocaching with environmental stewardship. Through these activities, participants are encouraged to collect litter found in natural areas, help clean trails and public spaces, and raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
By combining outdoor recreation with practical conservation actions, Rotas de Mação seeks to foster a culture of environmental responsibility, where every participant plays an active role in protecting the natural heritage of the region.
