GC8Z2J6-MIRADOURO NATURAL DA FORMOSA - ORTIGA
One of Ortiga's highest points.
This place has a wide range of interests in addition to the visual aspect.
The traveller, has an almost 360 degree vision around him.
With favourable weather, we will be able to see to the west, the territories of Sardoal, the city of Abrantes. Further south, we can see the Pego Thermoelectric Plant and all the fields of Alvega. To the southeast, we can see the Belver Dam, the Ortiga River Beach, the Belver Castle, Belver and further away the village of Gavião, the latter two already in Alentejo territories.
At the foot of this belvedere is Ortiga, almost in its entirety.
There are, in this place, two more points of interest. The Geodesic Vertex of Formosa and a house, which the locals call Casa da Formosa and which are told stories, in which during the 70's, here would have stayed elements of the old FP25 of April, Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho and the singer Zeca Afonso.
Even today it is visible, looking inside the house, the place of their hiding place.
