Viewpoint located downstream from the dam, on the right bank of the River Tagus.
From this vantage point, hikers have a privileged view of this important infrastructure.
The dam has a height of 30 metres above the natural terrain and a crown length of 327.5 metres. Its installed electricity production capacity is 80.7 MW.
The dam's reservoir submerged a section of the Tagus River's old sirga wall.
It has the first fish passage built in Portugal, in 1947, of the Denil type, which was later replaced by the sluice that now exists. However, according to a study carried out in the 1990s, it is not very effective.
