The Geosite Penedo Aivado integrates the Armorican Quartzite Formation, formation constituted, from the base to the top, by conglomerates and arkosic sandstones, to which a group of quartzite benches of variable thickness is superimposed.
The Penedo Aivado is located in the Southeast flank of the Envendos-Carvoeiro syntrophic and the formation in which it is framed is characterized for presenting abundant ichnofossils, some visible near the Miradouro das Cruzianas.

"dug in the shape of a alveolus", Aivado is the name given to the door of the hive, that is, the hole through which the bees enter the tenement.
In the place of Aivado, carved in the rock of Pena, there are large caves around which the people have been embroidering for centuries a legend recorded here:
