3000 - Carvoeiro River Beach 14 years of Blue Flag
PR3-MAC-ROUTE OF CARVOEIRO
Awarded the Blue Flag for several consecutive years, the river beach of Carvoeiro is considered one of the most beautiful river beaches in the country. Surrounded by tall pine trees and generous crowns, it is undoubtedly a beach with unique and very special characteristics. It has a perfect natural setting and infrastructures adapted to everyone, including people with reduced mobility. Besides the extensive water mirror and a swimming pool for children, the place also has a picnic area and barbecue. It is, without a doubt, the ideal space to spend a very pleasant day in the company of friends or family.
3017 - Alto do Poio, Rouqueira-Carvoeiro
For those who can't resist the dazzle of a good panoramic view, Alto do Poio, near the village of Rouqueira, is superb. From the top you can see endless lands, some houses nestled in each other and all the magnitude of mother nature. To understand where it is is not difficult. At the top of the highest head, an elevation of 208 meters, a small aircraft and the Portuguese flag welcome those who arrive and invite the photograph to instagram it. Would you like to take the opportunity to disconnect a bit of the world? Well, take the photo and enjoy the silence.
3028 - Aldeia da Laje
Laje: this is yet another example of a place relegated to abandonment, but not to oblivion. That is why it is part of this roadmap. That is why and because there is always a certain beauty in abandonment. And if it is true that before abandonment all places had a history, what will be the history that this place tells us. Your imagination will tell you.
3035 - Chapel of the Holy House of Mercy of Carvoeiro
The chapel of Our Lady of the Visitation of Carvoeiro, also known as the Church of Mercy, dates from 1590, although the altarpiece inside the temple dates back to the 17th century. Composed by nave and main chapel, wooden ceiling and cradle vault, it is an example of religious architecture from the 15th century in the municipality of Mação which, despite its modest architectural structure, rectangular plan and side bell tower, is worthy of the traveller's attention.
3049 - GEOSSITIO Erosion Structures Beheaded Fragas
Here is another place of unique characteristics in the municipality of Mação: the so-called Fragas of the village of Degolados, a geositium composed of imposing rock outcrops that extend over several meters. The bravest will want to venture into a risky juggling over the rocks, which is only advisable if all the safety conditions are met so the best is to stay quiet and enjoy the local fauna and flora.
