GEOCACHING POINT
Serra (from the Latin term serra) is the set of mountains and rugged terrain with strong gradients and many peaks, which therefore resembles a saw (tool).
The term is often applied to asymmetric escarpments that have one slope steeper and another less steep. A mountain range is distinguished from a massif by having singular mountains rather than grouped ones. A mountain range is thus a subset of mountains that is within another larger and more extensive set, which is called a mountain range. Normally, mountain ranges are longer than they are wide, and their central axis is called the orographic axis.
The point where this viewpoint is located, allows a superb view over the reservoir of the Pracana Dam.
From this location, the traveler can observe the districts of Santarém (local), Castelo Branco district and Geopark NATURTEJO (opposite) and Portalegre (east side).
