Listen to our advice: go in time. There's so much to see and enjoy in Envendos - and you'll regret it if you skip points.
Head towards Vale da Mua and around this nice village start by venturing on the available raft at Pego do Morena (4005) (also known as Azenha do Cavaco) and then look for Black Caths of Cabril Waterfall, in Vale da Mua (4004), both nearby. Follow Pracana to Envendos.
After passing Envendos rume to the small village of Ladeira, famous for its Águas Quentes, a centenary source of health and well-being since the reign of D. João V. Here, enjoy the Roman Bridge of Ladeira de Envendos (4066), on the EN 351, over the river Pracana, already within the limits of the village and, to finish, venture to the discovery of Buraca da Moura (4072). Believe that it will not be easy, but in the end the effort will be compensated. Be careful, take adequate clothes and shoes.
Go down, head towards Zimbreira and its Pego da Rainha (4058), another paradise hidden among vegetation, always with the beautiful images of the Pracana dam lake as a backdrop on your left. It is not difficult to surrender to the charm of this place, to its perfect tranquillity and framing.
From the river banks go to the top of the Zimbreira Mountain and look for the geodesic vertex of Castelo Velho (4073). When you get there you will understand why this is one of the places to visit truly in the whole municipality. Believe me: you really have to go!
Now it's time to discover one of the greatest treasures of this area: the rock figures of the Ocreza Valley (4039), pitted on the dark stones that have been along the river for thousands of years. It's a heritage you can't even ignore.
Finally, discover the village of S. José das Matas and its Agricultural Cooperative (4026), the oldest in the country, from where you should go to Barca da Amieira (4033), a place of crossing between the two banks of the Tagus linking since ancient times the Alentejo to Beira Interior. Take a few minutes to enjoy the first mountain ranges of Beira Baixa, the river that runs calmly towards the sea and until the railway station Barca d'Amieira-Envendos, which is on the right bank of the river, integrated in the Beira Baixa line.
Last invitation of this tour: finish the tour by the VOR NISA (4013) Air Navigation Radio Lighthouse and let yourself be dazzled. The views are, once again, breathtaking. Make the most of it, the return to Mação will still take a few minutes, it is good to recharge the batteries in a place like this.

We recommend great care when making this ROTEIRO.
You must tell someone you trust about this journey. You will go through radical and isolated areas, where all the attention must be taken into account. You must bring liquid supplies and food to, in case of need, stay in autonomy for 1 day.
Difficult to do in a single day. It can be very tiring.
The Cooperative of São José das Matas and Barca da Amieira are the only places that can be done in a light vehicle (city).
All other places, we recommend 4X4 vehicles.
In the case of Buraca da Moura, you should bring climbing material, which although it may not be necessary, we advise.
In order for the journey to be and end happily, we recommend caution in the approach to the places and we ask civism in the treatment of the areas of passage.
Do not spoil, subdue or destroy. Nature is grateful.
